Lady Sierra was originally recorded as vocals and guitars a number of years back and pretty much sat unfinished until now. With the addition of bass and drums, producer, Star Goes Nova, has mixed and mastered track and it will be available here and on all the streaming platforms, March 8.

Oh! Just so you know, I heard an advance rough cut of a new song written by Tommy Marsh featuring some of my favorite players here in town, Tommy Marsh, Guy Martin and Shawn Jones. The tune is called “Rise from the Ashes” and according to Tommy he hopes to raise money for ongoing Thomas Fire relief funds. The next stage is to add more players and a vocal choir. Additional artists expected to contribute their time to this project include Johnny Main (The 44’s), Robert Ramirez and Michelle Voltrian (Medicine Hat), Jodi Farrell and students, Evangeline Noelle (Sisterook), Kelly Z and Perry Robertson (Kelly’s Lot), and more! Local favorite Medicine Hat gave a performance on Saturday night at VinTura Tasting Room in Downtown Ventura. The dynamic duo of Robert Ramirez and Michelle Votrian presented an all-acoustic show, letting Votrian’s resonant vocals and rich harmonies with Ramirez shine through. A mix of covers (including a touching tribute to Tom Petty and an earthy rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman”) and original material from the Whiskey and Wavesalbum and a soon-to-be-released EP hit all the right notes for a post-ArtWalk wind-down.
